Lipedema is a condition of the subcutaneous fatty tissue and the lymphatic system.
The condition is characterised by disproportionation caused by an increase in subcutaneous fat tissue on the arms and legs in contrast to the trunk. Furthermore, it causes tension, pain, and a tendency to bruise easily in the affected areas. These fat deposits cannot be influenced by exercise and diet.
Class 2 compression garments and manual or mechanical lymphatic drainage can temporarily reduce the feelings of tension and pain. The disadvantage is that they have to be worn or applied permanently. Compression garments can be very uncomfortable, especially in summer, and cannot always prevent the disease from progressing.
The only effective therapy is liposuction, which removes the subcutaneous fat tissue, thus reducing the tissue pressure. This makes improved lymphatic drainage possible, which is noticeable in a significant reduction in pain and the sensation of tension.
Not every type of liposuction is suitable for treating lipedema. At Klasmeyer Aesthetics, we use a particularly gentle method of liposuction, the WAL method (water-jet assisted liposuction). In this method, the fatty tissue is gently detached from the tissue by means of a pulsed water jet and removed by suction. Wie sollte man diesen Arzt (und die Leistung des ganzen Teams) anders bewerten als mit 1,0? Dr. Klasmeyer ist ein charmanter Perfektionist, der gerne gut und lieber etwas vorsichtiger arbeitet. Dabei kennt er eigene Grenzen/Stärken, aber zeigt auch gut auf, wo die Grenzen des Machbaren sind, in meinem Falle eine Fettabsaugung. Wenn man keine Fragen und keine Probleme hat, wird man in Ruhe gelassen, wenn man Ängste oder sehr viele Fragen hat, wird man einfühlsam betreut. So sehr ich hoffe, dass ich nicht allzu oft unter dem Messer liege, ist es fast schade, dass man auf der anderen Seite das ganze überaus sympathische Team nicht häufiger zu Gesicht bekommt. Nach über 20 Jahren Leiden bin ich froh, dass mir Dr. Klasmeyer wieder im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes auf die Beine geholfen hat.
Da bei mir ein Lipödem an Beinen und Armen diagnostiziert wurde, welches ästhetisch wie schmerztechnisch behandlungsnotwendig war, bin ich im Sommer letzten Jahres zur Beratung in die Praxis von Herrn Klasmeyer gegangen. Die Erstberatung war sehr gut; ich entschied mich sehr schnell für die OP. Den Termin habe ich nach nur wenigen Wochen bekommen, die 2. OP folgte 3 Monate später. Bei den OP´s wurde Fett an Beinen und Armen abgesaugt. Mit dem Ergebnis bin ich überaus zufrieden, da sowohl die Schmerzen wie auch die ästhetisch unschönen Ausbeulungen und Fetteinlagerungen als Folgen des Lipödems komplett weg sind.
